BASE is proud to have been supported by Microsoft to share FREE training courses aimed at all front-line workers, regardless of the sector if you want to create more inclusive workspaces. These include:
1. An introduction to Supported Employment - an overview of how the five-stage model works and the huge benefits in the model for individuals, communities, and business.
2. Microsoft Accessibility Fundamentals Training - an introduction into the everyday tech that can break down barriers, building more inclusive spaces.
3. 10 short videos highlighting the digital accessibility tools that will support all members of staff within the workplace.
Level 3 Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners
This course is accredited by Gateway Qualifications. The certificate is suitable for job coaches, managers of employment support services, work experience coordinators, college staff supporting internships. It covers the core values and 5 stages of supported employment and has the National Occupational Standards embedded.
Delivery Method: Online using Zoom or Teams, we deliver 8 half-days of training to give the underpinning knowledge and offer extensive support through our assessors. A workplace assessment and professional discussion will form a part of the assessment process.
Learners will have 12 months to complete a portfolio demonstrating how they meet the course evidence requirements. You must be able to have workplace opportunities to meet the evidence requirements to successfully complete the course.
Costs per learner: £1800+VAT (non-members), £1500+VAT (BASE members)
Supported Employment Techniques
This CPD accredited course offers a comprehensive overview of the supported employment process and is based on the knowledge requirements in the National Occupational Standards for Supported Employment and the underpinning knowledge of the certificate course.
Delivery Method: Online using Zoom or Teams, we deliver 6 half-days of training or four full days face to face.
Costs per learner: £500+VAT (BASE members), £600+VAT (non-members)
Commissioning a course for 16 learners can generate considerable savings for your training budget.

Conversion to Level 3 Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners
This course is for learners who have completed the full Supported Employment Techniques Course and would like to progress to the Level 3 qualification. Accredited by Gateway Qualifications.

Working with Employers
Building relationships with employers is an integral part of the Supported Employment model and this course is designed to improve skills, knowledge and confidence when working with employers to support staff to. Supporting learners to understand the language of business and articulate the business case for embedding inclusive recruitment into workforce planning. The course supports learners to:
• Establish partnerships with employers and negotiate successful outcomes.
• Adapt your language and approach to support employers to move from disability confident to disability confident in action.
• How to differentiate your approach to different sectors, sizes, and cultures within the business community.
• Be confident in bringing employers along the journey by articulating/describing the full business case and tools to support their Inclusive recruitment journey.
Delivery Method: Online using Zoom or Teams, we deliver 2 half-days of training or one full day face-to-face.

Understanding Access to Work across Employment Pathways
This CPD accredited course is suitable for anybody who wants to gain an understanding of Access to Work: implementing processes and procedures effectively across employment pathways. Learning aims include:
• Understand the basic elements of Access to Work, including scope of support, where to find information and limit to costs
• Be able to locate and review Access to Work guidance for a range of queries
• Know what should be included in an Access to Work Support Plan across different employment pathways
• Understand the value of having a timeline in place, and impact on their own organisations in-house compliance and audit checks along with funding payments from Access to Work, when there are errors or delays.
Delivery Method: Online using Teams, we deliver one full day of training or one day face-to-face.

Disability Awareness for Job Coaches supporting Employers
One of the fundamentals within the Supported employment sector is valuing employers as an equal partner and supporting them to become disability confident in action. This course is aimed at staff who are working with employers supporting them to work from a removal of barriers perspective and embed the social model of disability into their workplace culture. Learning objectives include:
• Understand the social model of disability and how to work from a removal of barriers perceptive.
• Break down the barriers, myths and misconceptions of disability and create spaces where these can be challenged with compassion.
• Build confidence in working with disabled and neurodivergent people using person centred approaches.
• Increase understanding of the importance of ensuring disabled and neurodivergent people are at the heart of all planning.
• Understand the role of in work adjustments and in work support in promoting true belonging.
• Creating safe spaces where difficult conversations are encouraged to address any barriers to building inclusive workplace cultures.
